Navy Hydrographic Office Gains War Time Independence
Washington December 13. Rear Admiral Seaton Schroeder reports the navy hydrographic office has been reorganized to be largely independent of foreign sources. The unit now focuses on maps and scientific advisory for the navy and merchants. Surveys remain around Guam and the Gulf of Fonseca with minor additions from submarine activity.
