Scalded Child Awaits Medical Aid 24 Hours in Illinois
Five year old Dorothy Phillips of Park Avenas, Mustetine, Ill., was scalded from hips to feet by a gallon of boiling coffee when a pot toppled from a stove. She lay unattended for 24 hours while influenza caseloads kept physicians busy. Dr. W. W. Potter finally treated her Monday night. The lower body sustained severe burns.
