Fowans Capture Big Livestock Prizes at Chicago Show

Des Moines Des Moines Des Moines. The three batteries of artillery ordered out from duty on the Mexican border may not come to Fort Des Moines to be mustered out of federal service. Tentative plans are under consideration to send the batteries directly to Davenport where federal officers will determine unloading and muster procedures. The batteries are stationed at Port Clinton Muscatine and Davenport and the First Iowa infantry will arrive in Des Moines via the Rock Island Great Western lines.
