Fatal Farm Engine Fire Burns 14YearOld Boy
In Missouri Valley Iowa on December 16 a 14 year old boy, son of Mr and Mrs Bert Hoag, narrowly escaped death while starting a gasoline engine on the farm. He built a bonfire, tried to prime the engine with gasoline from a five gallon can, and his clothes caught fire. He ran to a water tank and jumped in, extinguishing the flames but his face and hands were badly burned. The engine was destroyed and a dog nearby was fatally burned.
