Waterloo corn packing to start September twelfth

Preparations for the annual Waterloo canning company sweetcorn pack were hastened as warmer weather promises early corn maturity and a Sept 12 opening. Despite a later start due to season lateness, smaller acreage and full-capacity operation are expected to shorten the season. About 200 workers will be employed. A German police dog was killed when struck by a car on Sumner Street, W. C. Bunn reporting the incident.
