Des Moines reports show about 82 percent of 3 117 882 03 spent by the Iowa state highway commission in July went to county construction. Nearly 11 percent funded road maintenance and over 7 percent paid bond interest. refunds absorbed under 1 percent. Ten counties accounted for over half the outlay, led by Johnson with 218 144 35, most for paving.
