John L. Fay 30 of 1223 Berth avenue died from burns suffered in a gasoline explosion while driving a Co-operative Oil Co truck on the Raymond road. He was found near the burning vehicle and died at St Francis hospital after being rushed there. Cause of fire uncertain, with a theory he ignited while fueling a dry tank under the seat. Fay was born near Jesup in 1896 and had lived in Waterloo since age 10. he is survived by his mother, two sisters, and four brothers.
