Funeral services for Mrs. Janie Waller Hostetter were held at the Episcopal church. she left three living children and one deceased daughter. Rev Fred Henke spoke at union services, noting his background at Allegheny College and missionary work in China.

Abandoned boys misperceived as camped in New Jersey
New York report tells how Lily Davis of East Fourteenth Street learned her four sons aged nine to fourteen were not at a Roseland camp but with the Children’s Society. After their father Philip Davis left for Canada and the family home, the boys aged 4, 12, 11, and 9 traveled to Newark and New York seeking their parents. They were placed with the society when no one answered at home. The mother later took them to relatives for the rest of summer.
