About 38 members attended the W. F. R. G. meeting in Memorial hall yesterday afternoon. A notice from Miss Sadie V. Hollinger says the national encampment of G A R and W R G will be held in Grand Rapids Michigan the week of September 11, moving from Dayton Ohio. Certificates of transportation available from A J Trimble. Program featured Cao numbers a talk by Mrs W S Bishop on Forward and Lilian Porter on Sunset Days of Our Longtime Members. Birthday celebrations for cesurrma in July and August planned for August 24.

A. GC Williford state president of the Trank Walton league returned from Grand Junction Iowa where he presided at the first meeting of the board of directors under his administration. J E Brome Independence director for the Third congressional district accompanied him. The board voted to hire a state organizer to boost league membership and start new chapters statewide. The director from each congressional district will oversee local chapters reporting to the state president. The next directors meeting will be in Waterloo in November. Playground Circus Event Aug 18 Draws 3,000 Crowd
Victor A Read playground director says the 1027 season will close with an Aug 18 event at Washington Park starting 7 30 pm after a parade from Lincoln Park. Five or six acts plus a concert by the American Legion band head the program. Earlier 3 000 people joined a pavement dance for Pat's Pond with Russell Lamson Orchestra, as Esther Taviay and Melba stirred oldtime fiddling and clog dancing.

Police Hold Loot Found in Cedar
A miscellaneous assortment of articles believed to be loot of a gang of boys was brought to police headquarters last night by city detectives. The unclaimed cache was found in a cellar of an empty house in Hageman addition on a tip from two boys. Items include a watch, pipe, pocketbook, knife, tin box, wrench and plumbing weight. Women in Madagascar wear nothing but silk clothing. Silk is the cheapest fabric in the country.
