Budget set at Three point seven billion for 1930
Superior Wis August 6 Brig Gen H M Lord director of the budget arrived to submit to President Coolidge preliminary budget estimates for the fiscal year 1930 totaling less than 3 700 600 000. The budget totals reflect increases for many departments while remaining within the figure set by Coolidge in his June 11 address. The 1929 end year budget stood at about 3 300 000 000 and the rise partly follows broader accounting of expenditures such as tax refunds previously omitted.
