Assault at Home Involving Mapes and Acker Near Janesville
Chris Olsen reports being struck on the head at his farm near the Washington township bridge. He believes George Acker or Orval Mayes aided by Mapes committed the assault with intent to rob. Mayes and Acker are to face charges in justice court, while Mapes provides conflicting account attributing the blow to Acker and noting a fifteen minute absence after the attack.
