Father Attends College as Son Operates Farm
Amherst, April 22. Dick Kelton, a junior at Aggie, stayed home this winter to run the Hubbardston 160 acre cattle farm while his father G. H. Kelton attended the 10 week Massachusetts Agricultural College course. The elder Kelton returns to apply his new ideas, as Dick resumes college after Christmas with 10 weeks to graduation. The farm aims to market beef by dressing and shipping to a retail list. The Keltons moved to Hubbardston eight years ago and began beef farming despite neighbors doubt. Dick is noted as a gridiron star and strong student, while the father emphasizes market driven beef sales and practical farming success.
