Cedar Rapids pastor Rev Blains Hyten will deliver the commencement address to Brandon High School on Thursday evening May 29. The class consists of 12 graduates, seven boys and five girls. A Thankoffering Service by the Woman's Foreign Missionary Society is planned for Sunday morning at the M E church with Miss Ida Clinga of Meerut India as guest preacher. In the evening the women and girls of the church and community will hear a sermon by Rev G H Goodrick. Brandon mayor W A Deeter announced April 25–30 as clean up week. Funeral attendees included Mr and Mrs Charles Aepker and Mr and Mrs Joe Prenne visiting Cedar Rapids for the burial of their father Mrs George Miller, 61, a cancer patient who died in March.

Mrs. Fred Carter, 62, died from diabetes Thursday morning at her home southwest of Osage. She had sent her whole Ute in this county. Surviving are her husband, four children including Mrs. William Adrian, Burton and Arthur of Osage, Mrs. Syr Us Naden of Manly, and George Carter of Osage. The funeral is planned for Sunday.

Clyde Ashby a Randalia farmer three and a half miles southeast of town broke his knee cap when he fell from a tree while carrying washing machine parts to his basement. Earlier he had fallen from a tree, breaking his right arm, and his chief surgeon Wesley recently had an operation for relief from appendicitis.

Herman C A Richtsmeier died after a three week illness. Funeral at 2 p m Sunday at the Evangelical church with prayer at 1 30 p m at the home. Rev Ernest Seybold to officiate. Burial at Oakwood. He was born July 22 1853 in Germany and came to the U S at age four. He married Caroline Thielke May 3 1888 and the family lived on a farm south of Ackley before moving to town six years ago. Three sons Fred Robert George and two daughters survive.
