Rare 1868 Louisiana Territory code book found in Dubuque library
In Columbian college library, a rare 1868 copy of The Laws of the Territory of Louisiana was found. The St. Louis printed volume, valued at $500 to $1,000, covers divorces, ferries, slave laws, debt imprisonment, and slave definitions, reflecting early territorial governance. The Gregoire family donated it years ago, and it remains in good condition.
