Settlement of 400000 Idaho suit reaches 15000 payment
In Cedec Rapids Iowa on April 10 a $400,000 suit by Idaho against Dr. C. G. U. Griffin of Vinton and J. W. Hayward of Vinton and other stockholders of the defunct Citizens Bank was settled for 15000. Under terms Griffin and Hayward pay 15000 to Idaho and 26000 of assessments against other stockholders are to be turned over to Griffin for collection, with all assessments ultimately usable later. A bad crop caused the bank’s closure and the charge against Griffin was for failing to attend a stockholders meeting.
