Supreme court bars city licensing of interurban motorbuses

The Iowa Supreme Court affirms Star Transportation Company against Mason City, ruling municipalities cannot tax or license interurban motorbuses. Water­loo Cedar Rapids and others helped defend. The decision halts local licensing. a state bill to regulate and license motorbuses is under consideration.

Knights of Columbus Initiate 56 Candidates in Waterloo

Arrangements were completed to initiate 56 candidates into Waterloo council Knights of Columbus at a meeting in the clubrooms. The initiation ceremony is set for Sunday April 15 at the Knights hall. A five round boxing match between Battling Ray and Kid Pollock ended in a draw with Ralph Alexander refereeing. Ray and Pollock are youths.
