Northwestern students balance study and work at college
Half of Northwestern men work while studying with 20 percent covering all expenses and none earning only part. The Y M C A runs a job bureau, scholarships aid tuition, and clerical work helps cover costs. Upperclassmen more often work to pay their way, averaging three hours daily. Roles include clerking, accounting, housing, and music.
