Manchester Iowa April 2 judge George W Wood heard three motions filed by Hugh Clemans for George Norris regarding a divorce granted Margaret Norrie. Motions to set aside the decree grant new trial and modify the decree were argued amid heated exchanges. The judge warned both sides about interruptions and scheduled evidence on both sides with a trial for Wednesday morning. The Lora Acers vs Henry A Acers case is set for Tuesday.
Marie Shulz of Davenport was granted a divorce from Adolph Shultz after 42 years of marriage. The court gave her permission to remarry within the year, noting the lack of defense from the husband and offering another chance at connubial bliss.

A half billion dollar foundation for educational and philanthropic purposes has been established by PF J Lewis of Chicago, a former Davenport resident, to honor his wife Alberta B Lewis who died recently and his daughter Charlotte who died two years ago. The Alberta B and Charlotte Lewis Foundation will be incorporated in Illinois with an initial capital of 500 000, awarding funds for charitable and educational work Mrs Lewis supported, and will be administered by Lewis, his daughter Josephine, and his sons.
Monticello Iowa April 3 Seward muth a former Monticello boy now of Blairsburg was attacked by a mad bull while doing chores last week. A nearby hired man saved him from probable death. He suffered several broken ribs and internal injuries. His Omaha mother was summoned to his bedside.
During the first spring electrical storm a barn on the Alderk dwelling farm two and a half miles west of town was struck by lightning. The fire destroyed the barn and its contents. No injuries reported.
