The Cove Creek High School community fair last Thursday was a grand success with overflowing exhibits and a full program. Rev B H Harrill led devotional services, S F Horton welcomed crowds, and talks by John B Steele A G Hendren highlighted cooperative marketing and education. The event featured a cheese factory reference, a county road and school history recounted by Prof Dougherty, an A T S Cove Creek ball game, and awards to judges and organizers.

Shulls Mills Brakeman Hurt in Cherokee Lumber Wreck
Shulls Mills man Mr. Goss Teams, brakeman on the Rich Mountain log train operated by Cherokee Lumber Company, was seriously injured when a log train wreck on the east side of the mountain caused logs to strike him. He was taken to Watauga Hospital, then Johnson City for X ray, with shoulders and hips injured. His sister in Boone has visited him as he fights to survive potential internal injuries.

Dillon Ranch ER C A Green Dies After Illness
Charles Andrew Green a longtime Dillon area farmer and World War I veteran died early Thursday at Barrett Hospital after an ulcer surgery. The North Carolina native, born May 20 1875, married Mary Elizabeth Edmiston in 1900 and leaves four children Nilar Bery Bruce and Charles Jr. The service was at the family ranch home with Rev Phillip May officiating and burial at Mountain View Cemetery.
