Hon F A Linney builds a native stone office with fireproof garage beneath it, a substantial Boone landmark. Lutherans held evangelistic services at the Episcopal church with Rev Cobb assisting. Dr J C Peery of LeNoir College preached two sermons at the Baptist Church on Sunday noting conservation of Lutheranism and preserving church forces. Miss Carrie Horton left Monday for a rest at her country home after heavy work. J M Downum
Washington reports 6015 Gary Indiana children aged two to seven show widespread undernourishment and physical defects in a Department of Welfare study. Diets were categorized A to E with only 0.5 percent on A and 8.5 percent on B, while 60.5 percent were in the D category.
Five year old Harry Blom of 191 Madison Street died after a bean became lodged in his trachea. Autopsy revealed the bean as the cause following a serious coughing episode after returning home from Beth Israel Hospital where two doctors had earlier examined him without finding a serious condition.
