Aged Minister Rev. Edmund Greene Dies at 82 in Boone
Rev. Edmund Greene aged 82 Baptist minister of 40 years standing died Saturday evening at his son’s home in Boone from infirmities of old age. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon by Rev. Roe Payne and interment followed in the Jont Brown graveyard on Meat Camp. Survivors include Rev. Tipton Greene, Bedford Greene of Boone, and John Greene of Oak Grove. Mrs. Greene died last November.

John L. Bryan aged 47 died from a self inflicted gunshot at his home on South Seventh Avenue Missoula Montana Sunday March 6 found by his son Joseph at 12 10 pm. A former Northern Pacific railway foreman he had worried about his position. Survived by his wife seven sons and three daughters funeral held the following Tuesday at Missoula Cemetery conducted by Rev F L Gilson.

Woodring Boys Escape From Mountain City Prison
Woodring brothers and Ray Pennell, jailed in Johnson County Tennessee on liquor charges, escaped Mountain City jail by cutting bars with a hack saw. Pennell remained jailed, and the trio was to be delivered to Sheriff Farthing after a Johnson County Circuit Court trial. R B Angel longtime station agent for Linville River Railway at Pineola died at age 72 from a heart attack. He served about forty years in various railway roles and attended to duties Saturday. Funeral was held Tuesday at the Baptist Church with burial in Pineola. Survived by widow and five children including Mrs. Charles E. Miller and Clarence Angel. Friends from Boone Johnson City and others attended. He was active in the Baptist Church and Masonic fraternity.
