Many Cases Heard in Superior Court in Watauga
The spring term of Watauga Superior Court convened with Judge Michael Schenck presiding and Solicitor John R. Jones prosecuting. Harmon received six to eight years for complicity in the Valle Crucis Bank robbery. Cannon serves five years. Linville Eggers and Conley Woodring receive sentences for liquor manufacture and store breaking. Several minor cases listed include assaults, drunkenness, liquor violations, and concealed weapon charges as the court continues work this week.

Dr. Filmore Bingham age 72 longtime physician in Watauga and adjacent counties died at his Amantha home Sunday after a lengthy decline. He served over four decades and ministered to the ill before cars and good roads reached the mountain area. Funeral held at Henson's Chapel Monday afternoon with Rev. R A Taylor assisted by Rev. L A Hurst and tributes from F A Linney and L A Wilson. Interment followed in the nearby cemetery.
