The Parent-Teacher Association approved plans for the Piedmont Evening Star Festival to be held March 19 21 and 22 at Demonstration School auditorium. Season tickets cost 75 cents and 1 50, with Civitan Club members buying two tickets each. The afternoon featured a seventh grade negro wedding and minutes were read.

Luther M. Bingham 38, World War veteran and prominent county figure, died Wednesday morning at 5 in National Sanatorium Johnson City Tennessee after wartime illness. Funeral arrangements not announced but expected at Cove Creek home with full military honors. survivors include father George M. Bingham wife two children and several siblings.
The Watauga Appalachian Literary Society of Boone High School marks its twenty fifth anniversary with guests from the faculty and local community attending a reception at the Critcher Hotel, a St Patrick’s program, and a three course dinner at Princess Cafe. Edwin Dougherty presided as president and Howard Cottrell served as toastmaster.

Coffey for Boone city, Mrs. Fred Winkler for Boone township, Charles Lewis for Meat Camp Nos. 1 and 2, Thos. J C Potts aged Banner Elk resident dies at his daughter Mrs Roby Townsends home Tuesday after long illness. Survived by widow three sons Bud Toad Ira Potts all of Banner Elk and two daughters Mrs Walter Tate Johnson City Tenn and Mrs Berry Foscoe. Interment held at Banner Elk cemetery Wednesday at 10 am.
