Cove Creek won two basketball games against Sutherland High on the local court last Wednesday. Regular monthly tests occurred with one month of school left and attendance held steady. Mr. M. A. Adams was elected pastor of Cove Creek Church and will announce his decision next Saturday at 11 AM. Henry Mast returns from Florida. The local committee re elected the faculty with one change, adding Mr. Jordan Billings as high school teacher and Mrs. Hattie Swift Johnson filling a grade vacancy.
Over $10,000 in Hodges Gap real estate changed hands in two months. Smith and Gragg bought John Green's farm. Bill Sturgil acquired 20 acres. Wike and Monroe Gragg bought the old store from Sturgill. Boone Baptist Church lists 10 a m Sunday School 11 a m worship 7 30 p m worship and 6 30 p m B Y P As services. Sunday attendance reached 178 with the men’s class leading over the women. The pastor will speak on Why Do Christians Have to Suffer Sunday morning. Womens Missionary Society holds a general business meeting Monday at 2 30 p m with all members asked to attend.
