Major Robert M. Hanes announces new reunion dates for the 113th Field Artillery, 80th Division, AEF. The gathering shifts from August 12 18 to July 22 23 to align with the National Guard encampment and to unite World War veterans with today’s unit at Fort Bragg. The 113th was part of the 30th Division, organized in July 1917 by Col. Albert L. Cox and famed for St Mihiel and Argonne service.

Coy Rominger returned home from Banner Elk hospital last Saturday after a broken leg. Linville Watson died last week from flux, leaving grieving parents in the community. Reverend Henry Glenn preached at Rominger schoolhouse, while Lionell Ward visited Banner Elk and Blowing Rock. Miss Dave Presnell, training as a nurse at Grace Hospital Banner Elk, visited relatives. Rev L C Wilson spent Saturday night with M P Trivett. Whooping cough is very plentiful in the community at present.
