Joseph Hollingshead Injured By Mowing Machine
On Wednesday evening 11-year-old Joseph Hollingshead son of Mrs Mattie Isaacs Hollingshead of the Bairds Creek section suffered a severe foot injury when a running mower’s sickle caught his foot. The blades passed through heel tendons and the ankle crushing bones, leaving a small skin section to hold the foot. He was taken to Watauga Hospital where doctors hope the foot can be saved and by Thursday morning he rested as well as could be hoped. Mrs Charles Bingham and children David and Mary Martha visited Lincolnton relatives last week.
