Dr. B B Dougherty of Appalachian State Normal College lectured Blowing Rock high pupils on early North Carolina history and the state government. Smith Hagaman and Rev. Robert Isbell also spoke on Jamestown Williamsburg and King Tut. Isbell,Isbell lectures followed by a Lybian desert talk. Twenty volumes added to the library and juvenile shelves ordered amid a growing collection. Mrs. Hollifield celebrated her seventieth birthday with a large family gathering near Boone.

Entre Nous Bridge Club Hosts November Social
The Entre Nous Bridge Club gathered Friday afternoon for a members only session hosted by Mrs. James Horton. A R Sherman Dies at 77 in Wilkesboro After Long Illness
A. R. Sherman prominent civic leader and Wilkesboro manufacturer died at his home on November 28 after a prolonged decline in health. He was 77 and survived by his wife and a sister to Dr. R. K. Bingham of the region.

Ny J. D. Councill welcomed members and guests at her Main Street home for a festive Friday gathering. Revival at Baptist Church Closes Early Amid Influenza
A Baptist church revival ended last night due to influenza in the community. The series began December 2 and would have continued next Sunday under better health conditions. Dr. Vines, the preacher, left for Greenville South Carolina this morning and may accept a pastorate in North Carolina or Florida. He has served on the Southern Baptist home mission evangelistic staff for two years and previously led the First Baptist Church of Charlotte.
