Dr. William M. Vines preached the first sermon of a multi day revival in Boone in a filled church auditorium. Evening services at 7 30 feature old time gospel singing led by I G Greer with Mrs Greer at the piano. Afternoon service at 3 30 lasts one hour and themes focus on Present Tense of God.

Record Irish Potato Yield for North Carolina
Colvard Brothers of Jefferson set a state record with 541 bushels per acre of Irish Cobbler potatoes on black loam soil aided by 4400 pounds of fertilizer and 388 bushels of seed.
