Noah Isaacs Dies After Short Illness
Noah Isaacs 65 a Neva Tenn resident died at home last Thursday after several days illness of pneumonia. Funeral services were held from the home and interment was in the local cemetery. No immediate survivors noted. Isaacs born Cove Creek Watauga County son of the late Albert Isaacs. He had lived in the Tennessee village about eight years.

Alice Councill Celebrates Her 101st Birthday
Mrs. Alice M. Councill of Hickory marked her 101st birthday on Friday December 1. She is Salem College’s oldest living alumna and received messages from Dr. Howard Rondthaler and the student body. She remains active despite frailty and is cared for by her daughter Mrs. E. A. Taylor, with two sons, Judge W. B. Councill of Hickory and I. L. Councill of Waynesville.

Dolph Lyons Injured in Peculiar College Accident
Dolphus Lyons suffered a deep wound in his left arm when a steel fragment discharged from a hand drill during concrete work at the college. The projectile, about the size of a bullet, pierced the arm as a hammer struck the drill head and sent the fragment through the muscle.
