Bingham faces assault bond in bad check case

Still Destroyed in Caldwell County Moonshine Bust
Deputy Sheriff P C Wyle and Policeman Eugene Story of Blowing Rock and Allen Gragg destroyed a forty gallon copper still on Mayview Branch near the Cald well county line Tuesday night. A large quantity of beer and two gallons of liquor were destroyed. No arrests were made. The officers worked the outfit for hours but no one approached.

Valle Crucis Community Notes Thanksgiving and Visits
Mrs J M Shall traveled to Jefferson with Ira T Johnson for a Thanksgiving visit to her daughter and to help Mr and Mrs Johnson move into their 59th home. Miss Effie Heffner and Miss Susie Taylor drove to Johnson City Thanksgiving afternoon returning the next day. The usual Thanksgiving service was held at Holy Cross church decorated with harvest fruits. The Woman's Auxiliary met at Mrs Roy Mitchell's home. Oscar Mast accompanied by others as far as Johnson City on his way to Missouri after a two week Valle Crucis visit.

Cove Creek News Sees Plays, Sports, and School Progress
Thanksgiving holidays close the Cove Creek school week as students enjoy a junior play titled Annie Whats Her Name and a 30 percent share of proceeds. The Cove Creek basketball team lost 27 to 10 at Boone to Mountain City. The new high school building is in use with 180 pupils and 175 average attendance. The Blowing Rock Dramatic Club will perform December 14 with a 30 piece band and 30 percent school proceeds.
