Woodrow Wilson Birthplace Memorial Campaign Planned in NC
Raleigh April 7 The two week drive from April 15 to 30 will canvass North Carolina for the Woodrow Wilson Birthplace Memorial to Staunton Virginia. Dr T A Allen says NC pledges to raise the 50 000 goal with county chairs coordinating gifts. The project includes the Staunton birth house Mary Baldwin College chapel and a memorial hall on campus. The notice also urges increased corn acreage on farms.

Gerald Chapman, famed bandit, was hanged at 12:04 a m in the death chamber at Wethersfield Conn for the murder of a New Britain policeman. Governor Trumbull denied any further reprieve as witnesses and officials observed the execution procedure.

Mothers Seek Action to Run Drunks from Hertford Streets
In Hertford North Carolina on April 4 mothers appeared before the chamber of commerce calling for enforcement to curb drunkenness and rowdiness especially on Sundays. Rev S R Monds urged forming a law enforcement committee to eradicate the pest of whiskey and the group was authorized to recruit aid. The committee will work with the town council mayor and police chief to jail anyone found drunk and disorderly.

Girl Shot by Don Trivett Near Beech Creek
Annie Lee Edminston fifteen daughter of George Edminston Beech Creek section lies in Banner Elk Hospital in critical condition from a .22 rifle wound fired by Don Trivett Tuesday afternoon near Beech Creek post office. They were in a truck after a dog was struck. Trivett escaped while his family members were arrested and released after a preliminary hearing.
