Seven year old Mary Helen Cooper dies in Blowing Rock
Mary Helen Cooper aged seven daughter of Mrs Helen Cooper of Blowing Rock died Sunday after a long illness. Funeral services were held at the home Monday at 1 pm by Rev Sexton Buchanan of Blowing Rock Presbyterian Church. Interment in Critcher family burying ground near Bamboo. She is survived by her mother a brother and grandparents Mr and Mrs A N Critcher of Blowing Rock.

The 18 year old sophomore won after elimination rounds from eight entrants delivering an eight minute address on Prohibition.
