Justice of Peace Ernest L. Raney announced that three more hearings were held on dog tax failure charges. John Schooley William Armes and Anthony Swanagan pled guilty and were fined 15.90 each. Schooley jailed in default. Armes and Swanagan stayed their fines.
Indianapolis June 30 union leaders agreed to almost all points of a proposed strike truce with only one issue unsettled. Thomas R Hutson state labor commissioner said he would confer with CIO leaders in Washington today as the nation watched the Calumet area dispute and related violence fears. A warning that a strike deadline could be set soon was reported in the message to Chicago Mayor Andrew Rooney.
Three bandits invaded University Bank in Kansas City early morning. They forced President J. R. Breed and five others to the floor as two revolvers and a sawed-off shotgun were used. A cash haul between $3,000 and $5,000 was seized before fleeing.

Vincennes Indiana June 30 Ward Davis 22 accused of killing Anna vive France 17 in a car shooting three years ago told a Knox circuit jury he was frightened and that the gun went off as he reached for it denying mistreatment or involvement with others He said he left the scene driving to a highway slab and that Anna vive slumped dead later. He also said he was engaged to marry Anna vive and borrowed the gun to shoot two dogs in the community. The defense planned to close its case.
W C Koegneman, 45, of Indianapolis, arrested weeks ago for driving intoxicated, pled guilty in city court to reckless driving. Mayor McPherson fined him $25 plus costs, paid to secure his release.
Roll Matthews, manager of the Indiana Bell Telephone Company at Vincennes, was installed as president of the Vincennes Rotary Club yesterday, succeeding Hugh Q. Stevens. Matthews formerly managed the local exchange of the Indiana Bell. Felix Cadoll of Liberal Kansas, a former Washington resident, attended as a guest.
A jury trial opened this morning in the case of Oliver McCracken versus Louise C Sparrow over $200 for services rendered. After the case began, a postponement was granted until tomorrow.
