Mrs. Thomas O. Whiteside died at 2 50 oclock in an Illinois hospital per notice from her husband. The Whiteside family previously lived in Washington where Mr. Whiteside worked as a printer for The Democrat. Funeral services are planned for Thursday morning in Decatur.
The will of the late Mrs. Ada M Schuck has been filed for probate. A codicil dated November 12, 1932 was attached, witnessed by Stephen E Myers and Ezra Mattingly. She leaves her estate to two sons Henry and LeRoy with individual bequests to wives of two other sons and several grandchildren.
Melvin Sheetz of Sixth and West Walnut streets fell from a cherry tree while picking fruit at seven o’clock Monday night. He sustained two cracked ribs and body bruises requiring medical attention.
The board of directors of Industrial Savings and Loan Association met yesterday afternoon and voted to declare a 3 percent dividend for the period ending June 30.
Clifford Massie has been transferred from a local Merit Shoe Vincennes store as a merchandise carrier. He has left the Vincennes location to join the new post.
The Mutual Building Corporation directors met Monday and declared the usual dividend. Dividend checks will be mailed to stockholders on July 1.
Washington June 29 In last minute action the House approved Senate amendments to the 1 5 billion relief measure sending the bill to the White House The life of the PWA was extended to July 1 1939 and both PWA and WPA authorizations would have expired tomorrow The bill earmarks 71 million for school projects with hazardous conditions 92 million for locally bonded projects and 17 million for state approved reprtations for projects
City council met in a brief session Monday, considering water service regulations and extensions. Dr. J. Jesse Williams aged 8. C. Engineer and former Washington resident dies yesterday in Cincinnati. He married Tillie Dietz in Washington. survived by two sons Roy and Carl Williams of Cincinnati. Brothers-in-law Frank, Henry and Albert Deitz live here. Funeral set for Wednesday at 2 PM at Seymour. body arrived this morning and taken to funeral home. Williams was a son of Washington. a simple funeral will be held by the Seymour lodge.

Clarence Foreman, 60, of Bicknell Ind, held in Knox County jail awaiting arraignment on assault and battery with intent to kill charges. The incident followed a tavern quarrel when Foreman allegedly knifed Amond Rainwater after Rainwater danced with Foreman's wife. Rainwater required seven stitches for a neck wound.
