Mrs. Luella Steen 61 wife of Wm W Steen of Pike county died at 10:30 this morning after months of illness. Born February 16 1869 in Daviess county she moved to Pike forty two years ago with the family and lived near the Straightline Bridge. Surviving are husband ten children Walter Pittsburgh Forest Hinsdale Lawrence East St Louis Charlies Monte Bello Verne Teague Grace McDade Ira Mary Clyde and Alva Steen Petersburg. two brothers E O Jones Washington and Hosea Jones Tampa. Funeral arrangements pending James A Gill to conduct service.

Building Work Aims For July First Start
The city plans to complete the new factory portion by July first with skylights installed next week. Gutting and concrete floor work begin soon followed by coating, a wooden floor installation, and temporary walls. Carpenters will move in as the old flag on Fourth Street is torn down and the new facility readies for machinery by early August.
Former local woman's death Ella M. Wilson at 81
Mrs. Ella M. Wilson widow of James Wilson died this morning at the Odd Fellows Home in Greensburg Indiana. Her body will arrive in Washington and be taken to the Brennan home on South Meridian Street for funeral services Wednesday at 4 PM conducted by Rev. S L Martin. Burial in Oak Grove. She was born February 2 1949 in New Orleans and was a member of the Methodist church and Rebecca Lodge. Survived by nephew Otis Roberts and niece Margaret Slawson.

Brooklyn pastor breaks hip in garage work accident
Rev. Ray A. Ragsdale, pastor of the Brooklyn Methodist church in Indiana, fell last week while doing a screen over a garage window and broke his hip. He was taken to Methodist hospital in Indianapolis for treatment. A former Davies county resident, he is the son of a living mother near Glendale and brother of Tillman Ragsdale of South Meridian Street. He is well known in Davies county.

Mrs Ida Cooper Buried Near Monroe City
Mrs. Ida Cooper aged 39 died last Saturday in Mount Hope West Virginia and was buried Monday in the Baptist church cemetery two and a half miles south of Monroe City. Born May 31 1891 in Indiana she was the daughter of Geo Eliza Warner Rose and wife of Harl Cooper. Bodies arrived in Washington and were transported to Knox county by James A with charge of the funeral.

Indianapolis June 3 Anife died from a small caliber wound. The burned body was found in a car owned by Herbert Schroeder of Mobile Alabama near Indianapolis last Saturday. Dr Lawrence A Lewis deputy coroner said the post mortem shows the victim died by violence and was alive a few hours before being found. A murder verdict is expected today.
