Republican State Convention Opens at Saratoga Lead Narrowly
At Saratoga Sept 25 the first session of the Republican State convention lasted 90 minutes and ran smoothly with two notable interruptions A clash over a roll call involved Representative Herbert Parsons and State Chairman Odell as Driscoll led the session Hearst was attacked by a young heckler and ejected while a race hatred and mob law resolution drew cheers from delegates The day focused on governorship with Bruce favored by many and Hughes supported by few Ex Governor Black declined any viable bid and a roll call dispute underscored tensions before tomorrow’s nominations.
