Vote Fraud Arrests Signal Citywide Ballot Abuse Probe
A wave of arrests followed revelations of a wholesale miscount in the recent primary. Investigators alleged a Democratic “organization” used repeaters to boost their ticket as ballot boxes were opened in the Twenty third ward precinct. Grand jurors heard that about 2,900 ballots were released and that numerous county and party figures were tied to the scheme. The case centers on calls to recount across precincts and potential broader fraud in the election process.
