Lawrence Kansas Sept 14 Payne of Eudora shot and seriously wounded his wife and mother in law Mrs M I Smith then killed himself. Wife and husband had separated. Trainee said he had been drinking heavily when he rushed into the Smith home and fired. Dr Payne formerly a lecturer in the University of Kansas medical school at Flosedale. He was 36.
