Inquest into Death of 85-Year-Old Man from Sing Sing Return
A coroner will hold an inquest at Wheatley’s in Alexandria into Arthur Simpson 46, track hand for the Washington Virginia Electric Railway struck by a work train near St Elmo and killed. He leaves a wife and two children at 500 South Patrick Street with his father, former policeman Gilbert Simpson, and brothers. He served as a veteran in Mexican Indian and Civil Wars and recently left Sing Sing after twenty years. He recalls little of the trial for his wife’s murder in 1894 and plans to work in New York after release.
