Norwegian Swedish pact on Spitzbergen game care

Norway and Sweden agreed on joint measures to conserve Spitzbergen game amid no man’s land status and final settlement uncertainties. They asked the United States Great Britain and Germany to restrict guns on tourist steamers and bar hunting launches. Officials noted no US tourist ships currently go there and warned private yachts to avoid depredations. Germany issued a similar notice but action may be too late if vessels already started. City officials depart on vacations as clerks and deputies shift duties during absences from city courts and federal posts.
