Auto crash at crossing kills four in LaPorte Ind
Four people died and one injured after an automobile driven by Edwin W. Schurz was struck by a Pere Marquette freight train at a northern Indiana grade crossing near LaPorte. Victims included Mrs Edwin W. Schurz and Mrs Fannie F. Heinze. Mrs Shafer and Mrs Brace died later. Schurz survived with serious injuries. Mother killed by her son in Norfolk tragedy
Mrs Jennie Williams aged 66 was accidentally shot and killed at 814 Southampton avenue Norfolk. Walter H Williams her 19 year old son was cleaning a revolver when the cartridge in the chamber exploded. He had removed four of five cartridges and was attempting to extract the remaining one with scissors. The bullet struck her left temple and she died instantly.
