Jealous husband shoots wife then self in Dallas home
August Mermann Dennis, in a fit of jealousy, fired on his 18 year old wife Ethel in the Hackley home at Twenty-seventh Street NW, then killed himself. Both were rushed to Emergency Hospital where doctors said Mrs Dennis is in serious condition and Dennis urged to be moved to her ward. The couple had married February 6 after a brief courtship, with multiple separations noted by Mrs Hackley. Dennis claimed he loved his wife but demanded a divorce after she said she planned to leave him and support their baby. Police report he bought the revolver recently at a pawnshop.
