Viola Allen Leads Cymphetine High Point at National Theater
Viola Allen reached the high point of her artistic career last night as she acted the title role in Cymphetine at the New National Theater. Florence Roberts admirably interpreted a daintier part in The Strength of the Weak at the Columbia Theater. Mrs Stuart Robson and Maggie Cline helped open a promising second week of vaudeville for Belasco. The Majestic Theater drew a good audience amused by Sts 6 and Lunatics. Antiem Play kept patrons in suspense as Mrs Chadwick’s ventures entertained. Change’s offered singers and Labakan tumblers, and under the post office shadow a burlesque troupe pleased a large Lyceum crowd. As weather cools, theater activity is rising.
