Besold Begins Long Trip to California Trial
Alleged wife murderer Besold departs Washington for California to face trial. Accompanied by Sheriff W H White and Deputy Gilbert of Los Angeles, he was arrested here by Detectives Hartigan Bauer and Miller. The case centers on the July murder of Mrs Besold and a Santa Monica ravine discovered body. Besold reportedly told friends his wife went to Mexico before vanishing, then coerced his sister-in-law in Seattle to draw 3800 from a bank, later fleeing with 558 dollars and eight diamonds in his possession.
