Ten Rescued After Potomac River Boat Capsize
In the Potomac near Broad Creek a launch named Alleen capsized in darkness. Ten occupants, eight men and two boys, were rescued by Thomas Marron of Gilas street southeast and two companions aboard the June Bug. They towed the sinking craft’s passengers to safety aboard the Curlew and Moore’s boat, then returned to Washington. The rescue, at about 1 a.m., involved Willam Lopez Quesada and J Lopez Quesada relatives of the Cuban minister to the United States, with several other rescued passengers.
