Walter K Slack testified again in the Hyde Benson Dimond and Schneider case identifying papers tied to transactions in an alleged land fraud scheme. He said Oregon land entries would be recorded in Hyde office ledgers. Justice Stafford noted the indictment lacks proof Benson’s agent knew the titles’ sources. Judge Campbell stated Benson acted per abstracts showing no fraud methods. Dimond admitted many signatures on papers were his handwriting.
