Protest against street railway line on Seventeenth Street

Mrs. B. Tuckerman, owner of 199 Seventeenth Street NW, urged the public utilities commission to deny Capital Traction Company authority to locate a line along Seventeenth Street Northwest. She argued the route would endanger pupils at two public and one private school, lower property values, and require widening the street and removing fine trees. She noted a sewer under the street and doubted the need for tracks where existing facilities suffice. A hearing on the application was announced.
