Dangerous patient removed from Government Hospital

William Green alias Cain, a dangerous criminal and leader in the escape plot at the Government Hospital for the Insane, was ordered transferred to Leavenworth Federal Penitentiary by Justice Wright. Supt White declared him sane as Fletcher, a wife murderer, also left Howard Hall. Attorney Richard Evans filed charges with the Interior Secretary over Dr White’s hospital administration and alleged cruel treatment and poor food.

Boy Testifies of Abuse in Court and Life on Streets

Ten year old Payton Powell testifies in juvenile court that his father beat him with a razor strop until the back bled, prompting his escape from home. Merger Vote Sought as Trade Bodies May Unite

Cuban Veterans to Meet for Plans on Dyer Reception

Survivors of Company C First District of Columbia volunteers who served in Cuba during the Spanish American War will meet at Costello's hall in Washington this evening to finalize plans for a reception tomorrow night for Representative L. Beaten for His Honesty and Jewelry Theft Case

John Grauvogel, a German immigrant, was found with four thousand dollars worth of Einstein jewelry stolen from the Hinstein home. He claimed he bought the jewels for 150 from former butler Robert Becker and returned them after learning of the robbery. He was held for questioning as the Einsteins and house staff beat him in the hall. Police noted Becker planned a Chicago trip. Also, Bicycle Policeman Thomas F. Sweeney was severely injured after a fall while pursuing a speeding car at Seventh Street and Florida Avenue Northwest.
