Sioux Indians Fail to See Roosevelt Over Yankton Land Grievances
A Sioux delegation from Yankton, led by interpreters and prominent men, traveled to Washington after voting for President Roosevelt but failed to secure an audience with the President or Indian Commissioner Leupp. They pressed grievances on land sums, liquor enforcement on the Yankton reservation, and treaty redress, and they walked the streets in war bonnets and blankets seeking redress and a square deal.

Tate Poised to Replace Republican Attorney in Georgia
President Roosevelt has offered former Congressman F Tate the United States district attorney post for the Northern District of Georgia. Tate, a Democrat, would replace Republican A Angier. Observers say the move is personal rather than political, given Tate’s six terms in Congress and Naval Affairs committee service under the Navy secretary era. Capt Seth Bullock and his cowboys were hosted by President Roosevelt at a rain-soaked White House reception after selling their ponies.
