Eight Hour Law Cases In The Police Court
District prosecutions target Penn Bridge Company and District Construction Company for compelling workers on government projects to exceed the legal eight hours. Five employees testified, though some claimed overtime paid them, with joint inquiries by the district attorney’s office ongoing and potential trials before Judge Kimball next Monday. The effort follows a Central Labor Union complaint to President Roosevelt, routed through Meill to the district attorney.
